New Javascript libraries appear every week, so why bother with React?
React is declarative, componentised, and it manages UI updates for you. It offers a different approach to data flow & mutability, combines easily with other libraries and offers server-side rendering to boot.
This talk covers integrating React with MODX.
On the frontend we'll connect a real-world app via the REST API enabling programmatic consumption of simple and complex resource types like ContentBlocks and MoreGallery.
On the backend, we'll render the initial state of the React application from MODX and take a look at GraphQL, a new query language middleware, as an alternative to the REST API.
